I too agree, If Easykart wants to make such drastic changes, Fine!, let's wait till this season is done. Run with the rules we started with, and we will plan on these changes for next season. That gives us plenty of time to save and/or purchase any required parts. I still do however feel that the bumpers should happen now. As I stated before, this is not a bashing of Easykart. It is a public discussion forum that we can all air our opinion and hopefully come to a reasonable conclusion. Congratulations to the board at FKCS for taking a stand! I feel it's the right decision and it still gives everyone time to purchase that bumper in time for Jacksonville. (assuming they are available)
Now the next step is for JC and Tony to make that same decision and we can all move on. Did Easyrider get a real name yet? Thanks everyone for your participation. One thing hasn't changed... Easykart is still the best racing for your dollar!
Thanks Joffrey for making the effort to discuss all of the issues with your Easykart followers. We appreciate it!

I am new this season and don't even understand what all those changes are about since I am still trying to learn the rules as they were. Nevertheless, if this gets any more expensive than it already is, then all I have to say is "Easykart 125 for sale"!!! Marko

Well, we finally have direction. Tony sat down with Joffrey and hashed out some compromises that appear to work for everyone. Thank you Joffrey for understanding our plight and thank you Tony for making it all work. The basic jist of the compromises are... no seals, any seat, any steering wheel and the Vega tires will be mandatory at our final Spring race in August. Not sure what this will evolve into at the Grand National, but it sounds like everyone is on board! Let's go racin!!!

Here is the wording taken from the Homestead karting newsletter.
Upon mutual agreement between Homestead Karting and Easykart Florida, and in the best interest of the Easykart program, both have agreed in maintaining the spirit of the spec class concept by running Easykarts as per the Easykart 2009 rules with the exception of the steering wheel and seats ruling.
In the best interest of the Easykart community, Easykart Florida has postponed the adoption of the official Easykart Vega Tire. The adoption of Vega tires will take effect on the last race of the Spring Championship series Race # 6; scheduled for the weekend of August 8th.
2009 Easykart rules and changes primer:
Elimination of seals: Engine seals are no longer required to compete in the Easykart classes.
New Tire: Easykart will adopt Vega Tires as the official Easykart tire beginning Race #6 of the Homestead Spring Championship Series (August 8, 2009).
Steering wheel: All CIK steering wheels are allowed.
Seats: Any Fiberglass seat is allowed.
Post Race Technical Verification: Easykart classes will be subject to post race technical inspection to ensure all karts adhere to the Easykart Florida rules.
From here on Homestead will be taking a lead for their drivers preparing for the Easykart Grand Finals. In keeping with the tradition and spirit of the class, Easykart Florida aims to keep karting fair and affordable, while preparing new drivers with real driving skills in a spec racing environment.

JC, Will MKMC be selling the Vega tires? Those wanting to place well at the Grand Nationals may want to start practicing on them............

Just checked the registration list, so far things look pretty good for my trip to Italy. That's right, I am the only "heavy" registered. Guess I had better start listening to my Italian language tapes. Arrivederci
