I can't believe how quiet it is in Easykart land this close to the Grand Finals. Everyone must be happy with the GF rules, schedule and race format. Has Easykart Florida and Monticello Karting smacked a home run in satisfying their customers or is everyone just keeping quiet waiting for someone else to open a "can of worms"?

Ken,
It sure has been quite, maybe everyone is waiting untilthe last minute to register, but I would not call 9 entries a home run. if Thats all that is going to show up at the GN race it will be pretty boring.
I personally was hoping for more racing. If we were going to travel 400+ miles one way to race we were hoping it would be the format like 2 years back where we had 2 races each on Saturday & Sunday. If I'm spending $800 to race another night in a motel & food for 2 would be worth it.

I heard we had to run MG's on the front and Vegas on the rear. They also said we could substitute a rotax motor for our Aiami if your birthday was in July and September That should be exciting? (I'm starting wild rumors). It's waaaay too quiet.

Rich,
MG's on front and Vega's on back sounds good, seems like that would loosen up the back and keep the front from sliding. We'll put you in charge of getting approval from EK.

I will need to bring Bob Stevens in for backup on this one. We all know how helpfull and dedicated Bob is! What if we installed umbrellas on all the karts that qualify under 1 minute? That would equalize the field? (All nine of us)

Rich, you aren't sucking me into this one. We are already on the hot seat at Homestead for winning the Spring Championship in the EK100 class in Juniors first forray into this class. We are looking to make a move to another Series when the employment picture gels. We are opting for a busmans holiday and going to Road Atlanta for the 10 Hour IMSA Petit Lemans Race in lieu of the Easykart National Championship. Ahhhh, better to drink beer all day than Gatorade. I think many are waiting until the last minute and hopefully you will have a reasonable turnout. I think Easykart has made it as painless as possible to attend, assuming one can even afford to attend. Bob/Bobby EK100 #35

Bob old buddy, we will miss you. Rudy could have only dreamed about a GN without Bob Stevens. Maybe a little arm stwisting could change your mind? I'll supply the gatoraid.

Hey Rich, I resemble that remark. Rudy is a good man ........just stubborn as a mule! One thing for sure................... our engine is legal! Its a beast and would do well at a motor track like Monty. Juniors tired of being under the microscope and I'm not sure the bolt threads on our engine could survive another tare down after the last 6 times. Its been excessive to put it mildly for "Enrty Level Karting". I should rent out the beast for the GN. The old time Easykarters always said, the original karts were much faster than the newer versions. So go out and find an Easykart IAME Antique and try and hold the BMBs at bay. The Segarra/Amaya BMB 100 at Homestead is smokin fast. Might not be long before the BMBs come into their own. Bob/Bobby EK 100 #35

Your right about the BMB's coming around. When first introduced, they were dogs. Now they are flying. Like any new vehicle/kart, you need to shake out the kinks and find the best setup. It looks like they have finally done it. The new BMB's are now competitive. Not sure if they will pass an unbiased tech, but they are competitive.
While it seemed like they were picking on you at tech, they were just maintaining an even playing field. (If you remember, that is what we all wanted) I feel the biggest problem was, they weren't giving Bobby enough credit, coming into the 100's and being instantly up front. You have both proved that it is indeed Bobby and not any magic Bob Stevens motor. It would be a shame if you guys didn't attend the GN's excuse me, the GF's. I hope you reconsider. Between Joffrey and JC they have kept the costs to a minimum this year, to make it affordable and doable for everyone.
