After testing, discussion and in the economic interest of our racers MKMC has made the decision to mandate the MG SLE (Blue) as the new spec tire for the MKMC local Easykart series. We will implement the new rule starting in June.
We've calculated that a racer should be able to save hundreds of dollars a year on tires and still be competitive. We saw in the Monticello 200 Endurance race that some drivers were lapping in the 58 second range even at lap 185. Contrary to the MG whites, the more you drive the blue, the better it gets (to a point).
For people visiting us, racing in Easykart, only one set of tires would be necessary for up to the next five races. We will offer a one race grace period for those wishing to contend for points championships after the June race. Other classes will remain as an open tire rule, though suggest the switch for economics.
We are making this move in order to save our customers money and welcome your comments during this time of change, so please email them to us at gm@monticellokarting.com. Pricing will be posted shortly.

Drivers wishing to run there whites will be given last place points instead of not being scored. This is an effort to allow those wanting to get the required 5 races for the Easykart Championship Series to do so.

MKMC Director
