Flex length tech procedures are as follows:
1) The official measurement tool used to check the flex length will be available on race days to check flex and will be the ONLY measurement tool used.
2) The measurement tool used by the technical inspector will not be subject to appeal.
3) Flex length will be measured from the outer surface of the exhaust header flange (not counting the weld) at the cylinder head to the leading edge of first weld at the end of the first cone of the silencer parallel to the exhaust studs.
4) Minimum length is 420mm (16.535 inches, just over 16-1/2" inches) for 60cc and 405mm (15.944 inches, just over 15-15/16") for 100cc or 125cc.
5) Maximum length is 435mm (17.125 inches, 17-1/8" inches) for 60cc and 420mm (16.535 inches, just over 16-1/2" inches) for 100cc or 125cc.
6) It is the owners responsibility to check flex length. New karts may not comply with this rule.
7) Sealer may be applied to the flex. The fiber strip may be removed.
8) Only one OEM exhaust gasket must be used.
9) Interpretation of this rule is at the discretion of the technical inspector.
