Don't these rules allow for a four person team with two 250 pound people, and two 100 pound people to make weight and then run only the 100 pounders? What I'm seeing is these karts are very even, weight will be a deciding factor. Can these rules be amended to create a more even playing field?

Tallenhassee, Under "Number of Drivers & Laps" it states "All teams must run a minimum of two different drivers in the race, maximum of four. Each driver included in pre and post race weigh-on must make a minimum of 30 timed laps." So your two 100 lb drivers can drive a maximum of 140 of the 200 laps, the two 250 lb. drivers must make at least 30 laps each.

This will be a work in progress so bare with us. Please reply via PM if you have comments on these rules. That being said we will take the request under advisement. But, good point maybe we need to raise the min. number of laps or make a min. driver/kart weight. We'll get back to ya!

Thanks guys. It was a bit confused that provisions are made for three and four member teams, but then there is language requiring a minimum of two drivers. I guess if there is a two member team where the average weight is 350 each, I won't worry too much.

What about adding World Formula Briggs to the mix? I know your going to try out the clones here soon and I'm getting a World Formula myself. I'd be happy to run in a separate class and am guessing there are a lot more World Formula teams out there. Same R30 chassis and just as fun as the Subaru. Bobby

Hey guys, been awhile.
I want everyone to know I and my team have had a ton of fun doing this endurance series, and I want to make sure it continues. After doing this, I have no interest in running short sprint races for now. No offense to those that do, but I like the strategy aspect of a long race.
It seems as though the marketing for this series has gone away, and that worries me. What gives me hope is the people who are asking to add other - similar - karts to the mix. I think it's a great idea. Let's get people in. There are numerous people who come to the track, want to start racing, but don't have the money to do the 125's. There are others who get the bug and buy a 125 and can't, or don't, continue. With this, it's find 3 other people, split the cost, and race. Any team can do this for less than $2000 per person for a season, and after you make the initial $1000 investment, the rest is spread out. The second season could be done for about $1000 per person and that is spread out over 5 races.
Let me challenge some of the 125'ers to put together some teams and do the endurance series. It's a hell of a lot of fun. I love watching the sprint races, and want to race there at some point, but there is nothing like having your butt in a kart for over an hour, pitting to change drivers and fuel up, and having a four and a half hour race decided by 4.5 seconds. That's what happened in the second race of the endurance series. (There have only been 3)
This can be a great asset to MKMC. Let's invite those that have requested entry of other karts into the series, and let's go racing!! See you September 19.
