Well, I'm back in the motel contemplating my last few days, with a frosty cold beer in my hand. While I'm certainly disappointed with my finish, I couldn't be happier to see all my old buddies and all my new ones. Once again JC and Tim, you guys have put on a great show. Next time please coordinate the weather a bit better. As always, the track was in great shape and is definitely one of best I have had the opportunity to race on. As far as the Easykart Grand Final, nice job Joffrey. I know you have had your share of issues but I thought everything went pretty well. The trophies were very nice and the fact that the first five positions were rewarded was an added bonus. Overall, it was a great weekend. Not looking forward to the 71/2 hour drive home, but I'll be fresh and ready tomorrow morning. A big THANK YOU, to all of the Monticello gang. I do have one suggestion however. I think you should name that last corner after me instead of that other guy. You have to admit, I made some spectacular maneuvers there! Till next time, Adios.

Hey Rich. When I got to the track yesterday, Glenn put me out there on turn 1 flagging. I told him please, please do not put me out there because Rich was racing today and I did not want to get run over. I begged him to give me a job behind a fence somewhere, so he put me weighing the karts at the scales instead. Yes Jeff the world famous Racerrich will be making a guest appearance at Monticello once again. I'm looking forward to seeing all my old buddies and fellow Geezer Ken. Thank you for stepping up and volunteering. We all appreciate it!. If they ask you to flag the start/finish or the last turn tell them "NO WAY", as Rich is coming and the last time he removed most of the grass on the front straight. See you Thursday I did see the start/finish flagman doing the Aztec 2-step trying to figure out which way you were heading when you ran off the track on the last turn. It was probably a good thing that your chain did come off because you were heading right towards him. ;D I do want to say too that all the controversy at the GN race over the tape on the airbox rule just enforces the right decision for us to race in the Shifter Class. ;D It was good meeting you Rich, even though we just spoke briefly. Jeff

I would like to echo Rich's congratulations to all of the winners and to the almost winners. The 125 Light winner was Henry Ferree, one of our local (very) hot shoes. The results are up on MyLaps. www.mylaps.com/results/showevent.jsp?id=473343 BTW, everyone who has participated in any karting event at Monticello Karting this year has earned free entry into the December 5th Champion of Champions event. This event is like no other karting event in which you have participated, a chance to compete on 3 different track configurations in one event. And there are always surprises, last year there was a karting relay race in which the entire field was divided into 4 teams for competition. Each team had 60's, 100's, 125's and shifters, when one kart would finish his laps the driver had to stop and sprint about 100' to tag the next driver on his team to send him on his way. The first team to finish was the winner. What a great time we had! Mark Dec. 5th on your calendars, hope to see everyone there!

Rich, I was just joking with you and I really did not tell Glenn that. I did tell him that I never helped with a race before and never flagged either. I told him it probably was not a good idea to have me flagging and if I could work the scales starting out instead. I do want to say you are a sport and have a good sense of humor and I like that in you. You do not takes things to serious and get offended by it. I'm the same way and will even down myself for fun. I had a good time at the GN and it was a good learning experience for me too. It was allot of fun doing that job and I will help out again if I can. I got yelled at by one driver at the scales, but I did not let it ruin my day. ;D I wish they would put an awning over the scales in case the Florida liquid sunshine comes down again during a race. Have a good one. Jeff

The one thing I have going for me is my good attitude. My sense of humor, (and the lack thereof,) seem to help also. The bad news is neither one translates into quicker track times. I'm sitting around today doing the... What if I had done this, or what if I had done that. The bottom line is no matter what I had done, or didn't do, I had a smile the whole time inside that helmet. That nobody can take away! You just couldn't see it with the rain coming down sideways!
As far as the awning over the scales, I am suggesting to JC that he cover the entire track with a giant awning and offer a shuttle to the Turn One Cafe' for between race thingytails. Maybe that's what I needed?

Wow, was that c ocktails or thingytails. I do not know what is wrong with this forum because it changed your wording. The second one sounds worse then what you said because they had those up there too. ;D I tried to put my last name on here one time and this is what it said when I previewed it. Jeff Woodthingy. Now how insulting is that? Next time just say alcoholic beverages and we won't think anymore bad about you, then what we already do. ;D
