Another new team jumping into the series bringing the total to 12. That makes four new teams (so far) for 2012! We may need to add rear bumpers soon.

Endurance teams need to get their new drivers to the track for instruction/practice prior to the first event. If you have drivers that have not been to Monticello, please get them here before the first race.
We can do a driver's school in the rental karts ($35.00), or you can show up with your endurance kart. New drivers need to be familiar with flags as well as how the kart handles. Slower drivers need to know how to navigate the track and avoid incidents with fast drivers.
If you need tires mounted, check with the track for availability. We can change tires on Thursday and Friday prior to the race. Please do not show up the morning of the event needing tires changed.
I expect to pick up the motors tomorrow (Jan 10) from TS Racing. I will be using my own credit card upon pickup, so please get with me this week. I will add a fuel charge to your tab in lieu of shipping (it will cost less than UPS).
We will be requiring full rear bumpers for this series. More karts on the track means more possibility for rear contact. The full rear bumpers are for your safety.
Again, please don't wait until the last minute. We expect 13-14 teams and want everyone to be happy and safe.
If you have questions, please call. I may not have the answer right away, but will get back to you.

Good to see everyone out for practice this past Sunday. Hope all of the rookie drivers got enough track time. There will be an Endurance kart class at Saturdays Sprint event. This will be a great chance for some track time under fire before Sundays BIG race. Tires and bumpers should be available starting Thursday. Remember, due to the large number of expected entries, there is no garantee of tire or bumper mounting by MKMC staff on Saturday or Sunday. For those wanting to participate in Sundays Endurance race but do not have access to a kart, one is available for rent. In addition, one race ready motor is available if you have a Birel R30CY chassis to mount it on. Call 850-510-4188 for details. See you at the track.

Really enjoyed watching Brian Lockwood and Mayo Livingston in Sunday's enduro. Hope everyone was able to see them draft off of each other in order to save fuel for their extended stints while at the same time turning the fastest laps of the race. Hats off to these two teams for identifying their strengths and making the most of them. Brian and Mayo raced like team mates understanding that you must finish in order to win. Way to go guys!! Note to self, Find a way to keep Brian and Mayo away from the track on Enduro days. Did I write that?

Thanks for your kind words, Ken. It was fun watching those two work together!
I would also again like to take the opportunity to thank Chuck Venable for tending to me after my stint....
We are fortunate to have folks who are as kind, knowledgeable and generous with that knowledge (and equipment) as you and Chuck are! (As well as being 4G: "Genuinely Great Good Guys"!)

Can't believe how this series is growing, 15 karts in the May race! If each kart went the full 220 mile race length (which they did not, of course), all together there would be 3,300 miles traveled, in one race. Perhaps we should schedule the Endurance races for Saturday so that the Sprints can take advantage of all that rubber left on the track. Remember to make the monthly Sprint races during the Summer Endurance break. See you at the track.
